Health
How do you improve on something as essential to life as good health? Dow employees in Louisiana are working every day to make products that do just that.
For example, products made at the Amerchol facility in Greensburg, Louisiana, are used as specialty ingredients by customers who make body washes, gels, anti-bacterial soaps, cremes and lotions that reduce irritation, protect the skin’s natural barrier, prevent loss of moisture and restore damaged skin to good health.
At St. Charles Operations, glycol ethers are used by customers who make cosmetics, and the site’s specialty polymers are used in cosmetic fragrances, as well in packaging for personal care products such as shampoos, conditioners and lotions. Ethyleneamines made at SCO are used in pharmaceutical products.
At Louisiana Operations in Plaquemine, caustic soda is a key ingredient in soaps and bleach, while the site’s methyl cellulose is used in cosmetics, shampoos and detergents. Diapers get a boost from polyethylene made in Plaquemine, and chlorine is found in many health-related products, including cleaners, bleach, water purification and even medicines.
